HELP ME 06 wrx limited tyranny problem! !!!😱

I need some help!! When I'm in boost and driving hard. Stock everything. Going though the gears and when I get to four gear it grinds going in. But only when I'm driving hard, if I drive normal shifts perfect.

80K on car it might need a clutch

Anyone know what's going on with it ??!!

Plz I need info on this from more experienced people with Subarus

Alot of the earlier generation wrx's had this 4th gear grind issue. And if im not mistaking it has something to do with the synchros. Your first step should be to change your tranny fluid, and look for metal shavings. If there are metal shavings in then you know that it is done for. If this is the case you might honestly be better off trying to find a used tranny than paying a shop to rebuild it for you. But thats just my opinion.

Now when you change the fluid and there arent any metal pieces then do a better tranny fluid. I know there is some kind of cocktail people use that has good results, but not sure exactly what it consists of. But the Motul 300 gear oil is really good.

Thank you for the information 109 people looked at this post and only one person commented on it thank god it was someone that knows what he's talking about !!!

I guess the next step this to change the tranny fluid and look for metal.

Thanks again getting it done tomorrow
