    Clutch pedal is jelly

    Car: 2002 Impreza TS

Background Info: Purchased this car for $1400 knowing the previous owner had swapped a used motor into (2.5 SOHC from same year, 41K on motor). Upon initial examination i notcied a lot of brackets missing, a makeshift Air intake; basically signs of an "amateur" motor swap. Drove the car for 2 weeks...No leaks, clutch felt fine, everything was good. A week ago I stepped on the clutch to shift and it sunk to the floor and did not return. Long story short, I purchased a NEW Master Cylinder, Slave Cylinder, Clutch "Soft Line", bolts and washers. Installed everything, bled master then slave. Pumped pedals. Clutch was as normal. Drove for a day or so. Boom clutch went to floor again. Popped the hood and I notcied that the slave cylinder boot was inflated like a balloon. Obviously the piston seal failed. Purchased another Slave Cylinder. Did the previous process and I am noticing 2 things:

    1. The pedal will build pressure but never return on its own.
    2. I went to start the car and had to push the pedal way further down for the car to start.

Can anyone shed some light...Stuck at house and need to get to work tmrw. THANKS in ADVANCE

Update... Im bleeding the clutch and now the slave cylinder pin is pushing out so far that brake fluid is starting to drip out of the boot of the slave cylinder. This is a brand new OEM unit, and it is doing the same thing as the previous NEW unit. Am I correct to assume that somehow the slave cylinder is being over stroked due to incorrect settings where the master cylinder fork meets the clutch pedal assy? (Above and to the right of the gas pedal) Stumped. Please help.
