Your car took 100+ miles of heavy abuse, with at least half being ****ty drivers. Don't worry about one bad shift. If you have fun in your car, it's going to take abuse from time to time. Try to relax. You will know for sure when something is wrong.

The real solution is to not drive like an asshat. If you want to drive a racecar, buy a racecar or be prepared to pay repeatedly for the parts that take the abuse.

Drews is the only guy on here that doesn't take his car to redline

I used to take the engine to redline every on-ramp. Don't worry about it. Just learn how to shift properly. Don't slam it... and don't drop the clutch. There needs to be a pause between shifts. You'll figure it out with trial and error.

Also.. some schools of thought encourage abusing the engine during the break-in. I'm not one of those people... but there's fodder out there.

I'm fairly certain my last three engines never saw redline.

My car sees redline almost daily, but I don't launch, race, or shift hard. I'm sure within a few years, I'll be driving something different, anyway. I wouldn't say I drive my cars overly hard, but I use them to their full potential from time to time. My car is made from mostly metal and plastic, which I will replace with new metal and plastic, if need be.

If I didn't enjoy my vehicles this way, I would be driving a Honda civic.
