My WRX has less thsn 3000 miles on it and most of the time when I come to a complete stop then try to go into reverse (5 speed manual) it won't go in, I have to put it in a forward gear and move the car forward a bit and then it will go into reverse. I've taken it into the dealer twice and called Subaru costomer service, so far the service advisore at the dealershipis telling me that this is normal and is a trate for this car. Is anyone else having this problem? Or this is just normal.
Thanks

Its not normal. It is normal for a WRX. But all of us live with it. Its called the shift dance.

Thanks, I can't believe this is normal but I guess I'll just have to live with it. Thanks again for the reply.
Thanks for the reply, it's going to be difficult to live with. (Irritating)
Well, urethane shifter bushings (front and rear) plus a short throw shifter will help tighten up shifting feel and eliminate the sloppy stock feel.
These will help some with the shift into reverse problem, but yeah, get used to the Subaru shifter dance.

I actually don't get this problem TOO much. I park ass in, so when I do need reverse everything is nice and warmed up. Try that?

I live on a fairly busy street and have this problem ONLY when backing into my driveway when there is a bunch of cars coming. No cars for miles, it goes right in
