curious question about 4.44 forester gears

my 06 wrx is rebuilt and can push in the 400's. Im to scared to push it past 330 whp. My 5 speed 3.70 is running great in all but, I don't want to push it unless i get a transmission upgrade. I drive well. No power shifting or do anything that you can do to an sti transmission, that you should not do to the 5 speed. What about the forester transmission ? I want to push my car in the 400's and i am wondering if you guys have personal experience with the 4.44 gears. Balling on a budget here and well just help me out.... A mechanic that used to work for crawford told me so.. soooooo. whats your spin on it?

you should not powershift in any transmission. people have this impression that the sti transmission was built by god himself or something. abuse an sti trans and it will break just like every other trans in existence. is it tougher than the 5 speed. sure. is it invincible? hell no, powershift and launch an sti all the time and itll eventually break.
