Every time you drive it you are probably causing more and more damage to the gears. Sometimes you can get away with just replacing one gear, but if you drive the car after the "incident" then those pieces of gear get washed around and ran through all the other gears.. then before long the whole thing is destroyed.

Here's why you don't try to burn out or launch in a subaru, unless you've got ken blocks bank account. You can find videos on youtube of STi's trying it and grenading their transmission...Why should a WRX be able to handle it? This is not Forza, nor Need for Speed. When you have all wheel drive, if you don't have enough power to just break the tires free- which takes a good deal of power-, dumping the clutch is going to do nothing other than A: Destroy the clutch, B: Destroy the Transmission, or, C: Should the clutch and transmission survive, expect driveshaft, axle, or differential damage.

Do the gears still work? I think i just could be a cracked pressure plate along with the clutch disc. Best case scenario i guess. Best of luck! Dont do it again lol

Yes sti tranny would be well worth it, but not cheap by any means. I say stop driving and wait until the mechanic looks at it before speculating...but prepare for the worst =/

FYI, if you simply drop an STi tranny into a WRX, your WRX will hate you.
