All I was asking for was ideas and pros and cons.

Not some stupid answers. It is very possible to do this swap and I will do it. Moneys not an issue. I'd just prefer not to spend 10k on a Sti swap and to build the tranny.
honestly, how many people customize ther cars to something out of the ordinary, not subie owners.

I'm gonna be the different person who's wrx stands out being rwd.

Oh and heres to you forum guru's

Stock wrx block, stock heads, I'm running a holset turbo from an 04 dodge cummins. 32psi from 5k to 7500. No problems. 372whp no correction factor. In Denver Colorado. That's killer hp from a stock block. The tuners that watched my car dyno were shocked to see my block hold up. Believe it?

I'm not an idiot. Think what you want. Just because I missed a couple words in front of the comment that the forum doesn't allow. Who cares. Really.

Re: swapping chevy tranny into my 03 wrx

I caught a fish that was eight feet long the other day...

Nah rly dude.. A couple people on the forum already have a rwd drag sti. Look around for it. They know their stuff.

I have a feeling you didn't do your homework well with that turbo by the way. A high cfm turbo like that on an engine like ours would react a turd going down a gelatin filled toilet.

People gave you suggestions, but if you are so stuck on your ways and don't want to hear the flip side... Just go do it your way. It's your car in the end.

I'm not bashing everyone. Only the stupid comments about jag irs and 13 inch rims. I'm not going full drag. I'm just looking for a different tranny. Look at my dyno video on YouTube. 03 wrx with holset turbo. Posted by me. Car was dynoed at the boost creep in Longmont Colorado which is higher elevation than Denver. Video doesn't lie.

I am open for suggestions and changing rear ends. I'm mechanically inclined. No job is too hard. I just want real suggestions. Nut the stupid ones from the guys who have no life ad no real answers so thu post stupid stuff.

I gave you a real suggestion, R200. I think it is the easiest too.

You can do an STI swap for $5k. You wont need to build the STI transmission unless you are making insane amounts of power. 500+ to the wheels.

BTW Team Orange drift team have RWD subis.

Eh, I'm just going to close this.

Thanks to everyone who tried to help.

OP - you need to lighten up a bit to fit in around here, and just because people make some suggestions that aren't to your liking doesn't give you permission to lash out at them. Homophobic crap is also not welcome.

I may consider cleaning it and reopening it if you think you can get along. Feel free to PM me.

Bobby did not originally replace the rear end to a ford 9" however he did to a r180 and rear hubs from the STi..

Alright. From my understanding and quick search. A Nissan r180 will bolt
Up to the wrx subframe but I would need to swap axles and hubs and suspension?
I'm gonna do more research on the nismo r200 and see what it takes.

    Thanks for the inPut

Didn't he blow like 2 of those which prompted the 9" swap?

Stick with the t56 and ford 9". Much easier, cheaper, and stronger than any Subaru trans/rear combo.I like how your keeping the subi motor, I look forward to the build thread. Don't let knuckle heads that have never even turned a wrench talk down to you or poke fun, they're jealous. Plain and simple, kids like this are at local meets all the time. It's a big problem with import drivers/enthusiast. There's a few people on here that are actually knowledgable instead of parrots that just repeat what they've heard the past couple months, ignore the others. Try to find a member who has done the swap to find the pros and cons, although loosing AWD is the only downside I see if you consider it one. You won't be able to break the 9" or t56 under 500rwhp even launching at 7+k rpm 100 times a day.
