Hi All - I searched but wasn't about to find this topic discussed and wanted to get some knowledge from the mechanically adept out there:

My 2010 FXT has an automatic transmission (I think all of the '10 FXT's do). I'm putting 308hp to the wheels and looking to get more, and I've been told my transmission is going to be a limiting factor, not to mention break sooner than later anyway.

    Can anyone tell me:

    What transmission I can/should swap out with (WRX/STi & 5/6 speed etc)
What I should pay for a decent used setup
What should be included in that setup
How much I should expect to have it installed.

I'd prefer to come to my tuner (new tuner to me; I'm not going bad to the previous one) with the right information.

Thanks in advance for any info you might have!

I don't know what set up fits. I wouldn't do it though. It's really not worth the money you put into it. I wouldn't even consider the swap. The autos are pretty stout so I wouldn't worry about it.
