how much did it cost you to swap to the 6 speed ?

Just curious, because I have an amazing motor and huge turbo but stock 5 speed and i have read all about it and understand one day i will need to decide on what to do with my transmission. Right now I am pushing 330 to the wheels and wont tune it to its full potential until transmission swap. Im sure other wrx owners out there would like to read all the different costs and set ups you guys did with the 6 speed transmission into your wrx.

So how much did it cost and list the total parts you swapped the STI transmission, and if you did it yourself or, took it to a professional.

    thanks

its about the same price either way you look at it.

you dont just need the tranny you need about all of the following

    trans
    flywheel
    clutch
    driveshaft
    axles
    rear diff
    rear axles
    rear hubs
    rear brakes

Yeah if you have a 2006 WRX that 3.7:1 FD is going to be a PITA. I'm not sure there's any way around swapping out the rear diff like with the 2002-2005 and 2008+ WRX.

It can be done on an 02-05 for around $3,500-4,000 with used parts and doing all the work yourself. A lot of money to blow on 1 part, but the sti 6 speed is bullet proof so you only have to do it once unless you absolutely suck on a manual car and do launches everyday. It would chuckle at your 330whp and ask for more
