I just purchased a new SPT short shift for my 07 WRX. The dealership wants to charge 95 per hr for the install. Ive been thinking of doing the install my self, Im decent at moderate skill mechanic work but ive never installed one before.

Id like to know from someone who has installed one themselves if its a fairly easy to do one, or if im biting off more then I can chew.

Also if anyone knows a trusted link for a DIY install that would be great!

    Thanks

I haven't installed one of the factory short-throws, but have done multiple shifter/bushing installs.

I linked to install instructions for each of the aftermarket shifter upgrades available in this thread; I'm sure if you looked at all of them, you'd have enough information to be able to tackle the job without too much difficulty with a moderate mechanical ability.
