Slightly overfilled STi with tranny fluid

Did my first tranny/front diff oil change this weekend. I bought 4 qts of fluid thinking that would get me close enough to the 4.3 recommended fill.

Drained old fluid, jacked up the rear to what I thought would be all of the fluid. Ended up taking out just under 4qts, refilled with 4 qts.

Now i'm slightly above the full mark. It actually just covers the 'F' on the dipstick which is just above the full line. Driving seems smooth as ever, but I'm worried that it is over the mark.

Any harm in this? No easy way to drain the excess fluid besides pulling one of the plugs again and it would be very hard to not let too much out.

You did put GEAR OIL in it... and not tranny fluid.... right?? LOL

Regardless..... you'll probably be ok... but I can tell you're worried.... so there's no harm in climbing underneath it, and draining a 1/2 quart or so... just keep the plug right over the hole, when you think you've drained enough, screw it back in.

So you'll get a little messy.... no biggy.
