So was I crazy to say "just get a 600ish bike from the start" or not? I would like to get a bike but I dont want to start with something less then 600cc (or more then that i'm a small guy).

My thinking is you probaly ate a fair amount of money by getting the cheap bike for a year rather then getting one you can keep for 4-5 years and continue to learn on. Am I wrong?
