Bose Electromagnetic Suspension... the suspension of the future

I hope this is the future of car suspension, and that sometime in my life I can afford it. My friend just told me that Bose came to his engineering class today and did a demonstration on this suspension, and I looked it up online. Make sure to check the video links on the right side of the page... that bump test track video is... wow. Lets just say this puts Prodrive's active suspension to shame. They've been developing this for 20 years, unfortunately they are going to need another 10 before its released.

Bose Suspension Overview

Yea, like you can afford their audio or home theater products.

One potential problem I'm seeing is that...well, I don't really know, but something to look at that they seemed to gloss over. Power. That's an active system with "power amplifiers"... so it's clearly getting power from the alternator (engine). I'm just curious what sort of power it's going to take from the moving forward feature of the car. It might be negligible, I dunno.

I tried to read this earlier today, but my efforts were thwarted my inta police. It is a great idea without a doubt. Financial woe be unto me if one of those struts were to go bye bye

Good find, Bryan.

Hell, I won't buy their crappy home theatre stuff, I certainly won't buy their suspension. I'll stay with the trusted names in suspension technology.

OK...so basically, they built a 'Bass Shaker' in the shape of a strut. Interesting...

So in order to hook it up to the stock stereo.. are we going to need an AMP?

I want my car to dance to the beat.

Wow. I wonder what made them want to go into suspension.
