This is a discussion on Project wagon begins! within the Suspension & Wheels forums, part of the Tech & Modifying & General Repairs category; Interesting! DS would be a fun class... I thought about it... But I think a different car would be needed....

I think it would be a pretty good fit in DS, they come w/ 17x7's is the only real hang up there.

I know myself well enough though that I don't think I could stop the tinkering at Stock class I think I could do pretty well in STU locally (I'm keeping up w/ the STi's decently currently), but most likely ESP.

I think the '09 WRX would be competitive in DS and I think it will kill in ESP.

Sadly, depending on how you look at it, the car is currently not meant to have Street Tires on it.

I can't wait to read about the ESP build!

yeah STU w/ the M3's, EVO's and STi's would be a tough place to play

I agree that ESP is the most logical fit

And there was a lot of talk about the e36 M3s going to STX!

check the threads on the scca forum- some pretty heated discussion about that. interestingly much of the opposition from other 3 series BMW guys who have started to crack into the top (IIRC two BMW's in the 2 & 3 spots last year at nationals)

Yes, I was following that wth interest... I must admit I actually have an e36 M3 project car so it was appealing to me.

Thanks, Big Sky, for the absolutely brilliant thread. I almost feel like I've finished a great book - entertained and enlightened but disappointed in turning the last page.

Looking forward to the next project.

thanks I have to admit I'm having second thoughts- there is a guy driving down from Calgary tomorrow (a short 650 mile jaunt!) to look at it. Even my wife seems a little sad at the prospect of it going.

well it appears that in all likelihood the wagon is sold w/ a 09 ordered

the new owner will be getting most of the bits and parts that are on it, sans the wheels/tires and a few misc items

It's "winterized"- little battery is out, coolant is back up to 50:50, I've canted the camber plates again back to the caster/camber position and will have it aligned next week- toe will be set to zeo and I'll use all of the oe camber bolt to pull out as much neg camber as possible.

Actually looks pretty good on the oe 06 WRX wheels
