I just ordered my new wheels and tires from The Tire Rack today, and wanted to let you all know that the OEM WRX Take-offs are now only $69 each! Hard to beat for one of the lightest 16" wheels around.

I'm getting these, and the 225-50-16 Yokohama AVS ES100 tires. Whole package, including mounting, balancing, center caps, and shipping for $665.

    smorris,

Which wheels at the tire rack are you referring to, I see no wheels mentioned for $69.

    Hi Gary,

You gotta call and order them. Talk to Luke at extension #362. He's a good guy and posts on here often.

The wheels I got (they came yesterday!) are Subaru WRX OEM wheels, just like the ones on your car, for $69 each. They are factory take-off, not brand new wheels. They were put on a car at the factory in Japan, drivien to the dock, driven onto the ship, driven off the ship to the dock here in the US, and then taken off to put on the optional wheels.

Same thing with take-off tires. I had a blow-out last spring and new tires are $128. The take-offs were a lot less. I want to say around $60, but I don't have anything handy right now.

So, they are just like what you have on your car, with just a few miles on them, for a really good price.

    smorris,

Thanks for the info, I would have never guessed thats what take-off's meant. I assumed it meant it was a copied wheel (i.e. wrx oem clone).

After pondering all of this (i.e. the same things you have) I decided to go with some BBS RK's in a 17" with a 215/45/17 ojn my wagon.

While I would prefer a 16" there just isnt the selection of wheels and tires I would like and I wanted something other than the WRX OEM.

I will post pictures when I get them mounted.

    WOOHOO!!!!!!!!

I got my AVS ES-100 fitted yesterday to my wagon.
    225/50R16 on the stock wheels.
They are fantastic - no other way to describe them.

    NO RUBBING!!!

The grip is great - they are a worthy replacement for the Yokohama A520 tires.

Surprisingly very quiet for such an aggressive tread pattern.

    Anyhow - they are awesome!

Gimme a yell if you want pictures
