Any dedicated snow tire is going to do a pretty good job on a car with a great AWD system like a Subaru. The most important thing to remember is braking is still going to be your weakest area of performance, with steering not too far behind. I've had total loss of traction even with top of the line snow tires and my DCCD fully locked and found myself completely at the mercy of the car going straight ahead with no steering or brakes. Thankfully I have hundreds of thousands of miles of snow driving experience so I don't panic and can calmly do the best things possible to regain control.
