Hey guys anyone have any ideas where to get some steel wheels for the winter time with wintertires on them, our winters up here in NY are nasty and so is the salt we use on the roads its murder on aluminum wheels, so I'm looking for just the black steel wheels but I'm not sure if they make them for the 2012 or if there are older years that will fit, I don't car if there 16 or 15 inch wheel cause I will just get a different tire size to make up the difference, if anyone has any info I'd appreciate it thanks

I got my steelies from tire-rack. You can either just buy the steelies by themselves or get a wheel/tire package with them.

    What he said ^

I bought mine slightly used from someone who had to get rid of their wrx, but when I met the guy to buy them he told me he called Tirerack and spoke to someone who hooked him up. They did a good job; I checked and the steelie size + tire size they sold him was within mms of the stock diameter. A little skinnier, of course, but still.

    16" are the preferred size.

You can also find good deals on used alloy wheels you can use as winter wheels on the forums or Craigslist.

Just look for anything with a 5X100 bolt pattern. Strive for an offset close to +53(stock offset)

For winter tires as well, it's generally better to have a narrower tire than wider so keep that in mind as well. A 215 or even a 205 width on a 7 or 6.5 inch wheel would probably be ok.

Yeah be careful hunting for 15" rims, not many out there that fit over our front brakes, pretty much have to find rally rims to do that. So +1 to the 16" steeliness for you, since you're almost guaranteed fitment. As far as the offset check out a tire and rim sizing calculator, you'll probably want some thing with a bit less than +53 offset if you want to keep the wheel centered. +45 ended up pretty damned good with my 15x6.5" rims. I think +40 would've been better though.

Really I found them right away under winter tire/wheel packages??
Another quick question to anyone who ordered the 16in from tire rack, do those steelies have he correct offset then? I guess what I'm asking is has tire rack thought of the offset and recalculation of the tire size as well?

It should tell you the offset...you want anywhere from +45ish to +53ish I believe.
