I was thinking of getting wheel sppacers to give my 2008 WRX a better look, but I'm not sure if they are worth it.

There are numerous threads about wheel spacers and the risk involved in using them, I would use the search feature. But to answer your question, bad idea and will do more harm than they're worth.

I use 5mm spacers on the track, so my track tires will clear my coilovers. I have read that you absolutely MUST NOT exceed 5mm (max) on stock lugs, because there simply isn't enough thread left to securely hold the wheel on.

... trust me, I check my lugs after every session too.

With that, I cannot tell the difference in the way the car looks.... at all.

In order to be a "visual" difference.... you would literally have to use a 1-inch spacer... which would mean an adapter. BAD IDEA.

Sounds like you just need to buy new wheels

Thanks for the reply. It's just something that I thought about, I really haven't put too much thought into it. I think that Subaru should put wider wheels/tires on the WRX. The impreza is an ugly car until you add the extras that come with the WRX. Thanks again for the reply, I'll just keep as is for now.

So did they. 2011 have 8 inch wide wheels. Keep your eye out for some of those.

I know they did on the STI, not sure about the WRX. In a few years I might look into adding wider wheels, I guess for now I'll just deal with the 7.5's.

    Wheel spacers are bad.

2011 WRXs are 235/45 17x8. Previously it was 225/45 17x7. So if you need something wider on an 08-10 then I agree with the above that maybe just look to get some 2011 wheels. But please don't so spacers.
