Thumbs up Motiv brake bleeder gets my seal of approval

Bought a Motiv brake bleeder to do my 30k mile flush a while back, and finally got around to using it. Installed new Brembo rotors up front, pads, lines and new fluid. The bleeder is very simple to use. The cap fastens to the master cylinder just like the factory cap. Pour your fluid in the bleeder and pump it up to 18psi. Go around and bleed each wheel. Very simple one person operation, almost made brake work enjoyable. Definitely one of the neatest gadgets I have bought in a while.

Got it from these guys and highly recommend.

I've had one for awhile- don't bother w/ the universal cap- it's an exercise in frustration- the Ford cap (can't remember the #) is a perfect fit

one man bleeding and I think it's even a better bleed as you can crack the nipples longer often getting long bubbles you'd have never got the old way

Is there a tread on how to use one of these things. Brake fluid is about the only thing left on my list of mataince that needs to be done.

I actually did my brakes this weekend also, though bleeding the brakes was about the only part of the job that went smooth...... but thats another story.

This thing is so easy to use. You put the attachment on the master cylinder, check for leaks. If no leaks add your brake fluid, pressurize to 12-15psi and start bleeding. It has full instructions on the side of the unit and like I said is super easy. Took me about 30 minutes to bleed and I was able to keep it to 1 liter of ATE Super Blue for the bleed.

The one for the Impreza is the 0107 attachment.

The Subaru/Ford one is the MTV107.

+1 on the universal one pissing you off, I bought the add on universal so I could do my wifes brakes too, Im still .

On the bleeding long enough to remove all air bubbles

One cool thing I noticed since I bled into a glass jar, is that since brake fluid is hydroscopic, the old "saturated" fluid, does not mix with the new stuff and actually separatessand floats on top of the new fluid. So you know exactly when you've bled all he old stuff out.

Time for me to do this soon ... looks like a nice gadget.

Another great tip - alternate the color of your brake fluid. I went from stock amber to ATE Super Blue fliud. You know you are done bleeding when the color changes.
