+1 the guy is talking about doing something major like shaving the head before he even looked at it? Go find another shop. It could be as simple as the gasket went bad when it overheated. Good shops won't talk about what the issue could be until they get to look at the car.

another thing, I wouldn't think about upgrading anything until you yourself knows exactly what is going wrong with it. You don't want to go adding turbos and porting and polishing heads if you have other underlying issues that you haven't found yet.

I have a friend who is just like that!! He keeps talking about gitting a new turbo and such... Yet, That dang check engine light is on, In which I used my scanner to check it out for him, which registered running lean (He Drove with this code on for over a year!!!). I saw that he had a cheap aftermaket intake and made him get his old stock intake and threw it on... The Code went away!!!

I was jokin bout the turbo. I really wasn't serious. But the guy is talkin worse case senario. Like if there is damage to the head. Yes he needs to examine it first I've told him I don't think there is damage to the head its been drivin fine all this time and it started smokin bad when fluids were topped off. He knows the situation.

I really wouldn't get all to worried about it yet. While it does happen the head gasket issue really isn't that big of a problem on turbo model cars, at least not as common as the n/a's. Honestly take it to a nice reputable shop. Either you have a turbo seal going or even a ringland issue. This is only going off what you provided. When you were driving and it over headted because the fans weren't plugged in how high did the needle get and for how long were you driving like that? If it was right away and you pulled over you can almost rule out a head gasket.

Unfortunately I have no clue about anything on the opposite side of this state so I can't even recommend anything. A simple compression and leak down test is where I'd start to make sure one of the most common issues with wrx/sti's hasn't happened to you.

It was all the way up to hot. As far how long I really cant say for sure. I was sittin in construction. Felt warm air comin from the vents in my car and auto reaction I looked at my guages. I pulled it over and turned it off right off right away. So I realy don't know could have been 10-15 minutes. I wouldn't say any longer than that. But I really don't know if it was already hot before I got in the construction area or not. But that's about how long I sat there before I noticed it.

Subaru boardman OH said they'd work on it but I'm coming with issues on towing it across the state line. Didnt know u couldn't tow cars across the state line. Maybe its just our county? This is what my mom told me anyways, she went and got prices for towing it there. I got quotes of 285 from 1 place and 300 from another just to ****in tow the damn thing. (Though I'm gonna call my mom bs on the towing thing, but **** what do I know lol)

    DO NOT TOW THE CAR!

    ONLY flatbed the car.

    Do NOT tow it anywhere.

I'm not that dumb I know it needs flatbedded I didn't think i had to specify that. I really feel like im having to go back and re explain ****. Over and over so I'm going to anymore. My last Real question was help finding a shop. No one here can help with that I found a shop here that can help. I'm not completely dumb when it comes to cars. Certain **** I don't know and that's y I ask. Thanks to the peeps that tried helping much appreciated. The ones that only responded to be ****s its probably people like u on the reason most people don't come back to these forums. And most likely neither will I.

Nobody called you dumb or even insinuated that.
How exactly was anyone suppose to know specifically what you do and do not already know? It certainly wouldn't be the first time somebody didn't know to use a flatbed.
Nobody insulted you. In fact the response was intended to actually HELP you prevent damage to your car. And for the effort of actually attempting to help an an anonymous person on the internet (you) out of nothing more but the goodness of his own heart, that poster has to read your butthurt reply about how you're not dumb..

I see no evidence of anyone being especially mean to you in this thread... So IMHO you need to stop being so sensitive, take the responses at face value or you will not enjoy any of the forums that could help you.

I misunderstood and did not mean to come across as condescending. I wanted to make a distinction when it was not necessary. If you continue posting descriptively people will almost invariably try to help. I wish you luck with the car.

Towing isn't cheap. I had an issue where my car just died randomly on the way to work. I was about 10 min away so I had a friend I work with pick me up. At lunch went back with some things to try and figure out what was wrong. Ended up having to bring it back to my work so I could look into it more. Had the guy who tows a lot with out dealer and he is a pretty cool guy. I was charged $75 bucks to tow my car about 5 or 6 miles.

One way around paying for the tow is find a friend or family member with AAA. Not sure how far away your car is from this dealer but I'm sure it'll be way cheaper or if you're lucky they have unlimited miles. As long as they are in your car you're good. My mom used to have it and way back in the day my center diff went and I picked up a new trans and had to get it to my friends shop so I could put it in. I pushed my car into the street and had her call AAA. Guy came and picked up my car no problem. He even laughed when he asked where I lived and pointed to my house.

Most people here are pretty helpful. I'm sure you're a little stressed about the car but try not to take it out on the people trying to help you. I really don't think they were insinuating that you were dumb.
