    Help! Check engine light flashing as soon as the key is on

    Ok so i have a 2002 wrx . I am having some issues. It runs fine and drives fine. But here is the problem as soon as you turn the key on.. You dont even have to start it the check engine light flashed very fast, and no its not a miss fire flash it is faster and steady and does not shut off. It does the same when it is running also. I scanned it out and it has a bunch of random codes in it, mass air sensor, o2 sensor, vehicle speed sensor codes and i tested them all and they all have good grounds good voltage. So im lost. If anyone can help it would be great. Also i switched the ecm out with a known good one and still no change.,

    Also i notice that with the key on and not running it keeps cycling all the relays like the a/c pump clutch and the fuel pump well im not sure of the pump but i hear it let fuel loose .

    How many miles?

    Is it modded?

    What specific codes are you getting?

    Need some more details here...

    codes

    i have a scanner, i am not at the shop right now and i will post the actual numbers when i get there this morning.

    but they where mass air sensor, front o2 sensor high voltage and low voltage, vehicle speed sensor, and another mass air coded of some sort.

    im starting to lean tords the main relay under that pass side dash because they all get power from there but the check engine light just flashing 100 mph is odd to me but than again im not to familier with these subarus so forgive me for that.



    i had another one out back and it didnt have this problem so i switched the ecm out thinking maybe it was bad because i checked all the grounds to sensors and all the voltage to and from them and the ecm and nothing was wrong.


    as fare as mods none that i am aware of, stock tune and a boost controller and a turbo timer, that is all.

    yes i know what all the coded are i have mitchel. but the thing is i tested everything already and it still say something is wrong. i know the o2 sensor is good and so forth. i know what all the coded are.

    All those codes are related to low circuit input. Have you tested the battery and alternator?

    EDIT: Err...yeah. Started posting before I saw wrxtreme post her mega post there.

    Still...check the battery and alternator.

    yes

    yes i have but the odd thing is it doesnt even have to be running. if you get in the car and turn the ignition on it starts flashing right away, without the car even running or even right after you clear the coded. the battery holds a charge and all the ecm has 12.58 volts to it and all the grounds are good. that was my first thought was a bad ground or something but they all seam to be good. what else would cause it to have all these low voltage issues.

    If the battery and alternator are testing out ok, next step would be to check the main relay and other related relays. Sounds like one of them is f'ed up.

    relay

    yeah that is what i am leaning tords, the main relay behind the pass side dash seams to be the one that controls eveything that is having problems. what other relays can you think of, the main is about the only one that would cause all of this in my opinion.
    and also i have been digging for that relay and have not found it yet, any idea how fare i have to go into the dash to get to it.

    I've never messed around with an 02. It's probably the biggest relay in the box. :P

    What's weird is that the vehicle speed sensor and O2 sensors probably aren't on the main relay...so I don't know.

    hmm im not seeing a box thats why i was thinking it was just buried in the dash somewhere. but ill keep looking when i get some more time
