Any way to kill daytime running lights?

i swear - i'm going to go bonkers....

I'm finally about to buy an STi after having a WRX for 3 years - and they go and put freakin DTL's on the thing...

i don't want to always annouce my arrival - i'm going to have to put in a bypass switch.

Are teh DTRL's controlled by the parking brake leaver?

All Subaru vehicles now use them. I'm not a fan either. Yes, the e-brake is integrated with them, so it's an easy fix. I believe there are a few DIY or how-to threads on disabling them for the WRX. I know www.legacygt.com has a thread for this for sure.

Read somewhere (can't remember where though) that there is a plug behind the glove compartment (need to take out the glove compartment, like replacing the in-cabin filter). All that is required to do is to un-plug it, it's labeled "DTL". Haven't had time to try it, but would like to know if it really works. Perhaps in a week or two, I'll get to it and let eveyone know.

Worked on the 05's. If you have skinny hands you can unplug it without taking out the glove box.
