I ended up with an 05, the 05 is definently better in my book, especially because of the change in interior.

Am I the only one that likes the carbon-fiber/black knobs look of the '04 center console? I think the 05 looks cheaper.
I'm with you there only for a different reason. The 05 interior is basically a Saab interior, and as my moniker says, "why be normal"...or rather.."I'd rather be different". The 05 is a much cleaner look on the inside, but it is a duplicate of that Saab modeled WRX (forget what it was called).

i just bought a 04 STi, and i love it. the inside is perfect for what i like in a car. it does it's function. it is the bare essentials, and perfect for me. i dont care for pretty interior. it is functional, and works like i need it too. i care more for the engine, and handling of the car.
Second that. Just drove my O4 STI home 3 weeks ago and couldn't be happier about trading the WRX in for it.

Yes.
2004-2009 STi all have the 6-speed tranny.
