    MY05 STi Project for aussieinstlouis

Hey guys. I am kinda settled back in Oz now. I picked up the new car the day I arrived! Jet lagged and on the other side of the road again in a car with 18km on it. Not the smartest thing - but at least I did not need a rental!

After 2 weeks - I already have 3300km on the clock after driving from Adelaide to Newcastle (check www.whereis.com.au if you are unsure of the Aussie geography)

Well I thought I would share the project that is my STi.

Axis Power Racing Stage 3 2.5l shortblock. (CP pistons and Pauter rods)
    Deadbolt Enterprises TD06-20G
GT Spec Gen II Headers with Jethot and wrap
    AVO Turbo back exhaust
    AVO turbo inlet pipe (red!!)
    TurboXS UTEC
    TurboXS Tuner lite
    TurboXS FMIC
    Perrin Large MAF adapter

Fuel upgrades still to be determined
    PE 800cc injectors
    APS FRP/01 Fuel Rail Kit
    Walbro 255 l/hr pump

    probably an oil cooler

Defi BF Amber Boost, EGT and Oil Pressure
    CF gauge pod
    Short shifter (kartboy) and bushings

Maybe a custom CF hood from Axis Power Racing
Maybe USDM STi foglight (Aussie model has none)
Maybe USDM compass mirror (not an option in Oz)

Decent bloody speakers!!!!!!! The stock ones suck!!!!!!!
JL Audio VR600 CSi front splits in stock location
Kenwood KFC-1389ie rear in stock location

Anyhow - I plan to keep things posted on this site.

Sorry for the silence during my move!

    Cheers,

    Andrew

Damn! I thought you were just going to source a stock ej257.

This is going to be sick. What kind of numbers are you going for?
    -Brian

Twisty Monster - 335 ft/lb of torque @ 3600 rpm on a stock turbo. Is that possible? Yes it is.

the stock EJ257 was the original plan - but I am an addict!!

The bits are trickling in. The actual mod will probably take place Dec/Jan.

I am up to my ears in a test program I am running and in temp accommodation with no workshop.

As for numbers. Somewhere north of 270kW (360HP) atw should be very possible and still a compliant daily driver.

I am sure that engine has a LOT more potential. People are running the stock 257 at and above 400whp.

Hey aussie, you live in Adelaide?
I may be taking a trip there sometime in the middle to late next year.
That'd be great to have a local who can show a "tourist" all the hot spots.

The motor should be good for bucket loads of power. I will drive it for as long as the stock STI clutch will hold it and then work out what to do - I do not want to go to a full on race clutch for everyday driving.

The 20G should spool to 1.4 bar by about 3400-3500 rpms with no real issues. Below that there is an extra 0.5 litre for torquey tooling around town.
