From what i can tell, it looks like a body lift vs a suspension lift. more clearance..hopefully better articulation if they swapped the suspension, control arms, etc.

The lower the octane, the better the fuel mileage right?

thought so too. stick some low octane. lay off the boost and you should be ok for the long engine droning drive

I thought that octane doesn't have an effect on mileage. Doesn't higher octane just advance the point at which detonation happens? So if you drive 89 vs 93 the same driving style.. I would've assumed that the mileage would be the same.

Have you thought about Acetone? I haven't done it personally, and I dunno how safe it is, but there's a thread on here about acetone increasing your mpg by a large margin

whoa there guys...i was only kidding. even though he stays out of boost, the ECU will start changing timing to make up for the pinging and/or detonation.

Whenver i buy gas, i try to avoid those "1 pump wonder" stations. There's still some 87 left in the hoses and causes my car to idle really rough (even stall) at low speeds. It takes about 5min before it gets corrected.

i'm fairly certain that on any car higher octane = better mpg. i could be wrong though.

i am planning on getting lift springs for the fozzie when i get the funds. i'm not going to go all out off road though. because the car is built on the sti platform it doesn't make that good of an offroading vehicle. it's just a car. which is why it makes more sense to slam them.

on long freeway/highway type driving higher octane burns slower, therefore more mpg

ive done the whole acetone thing. didnt really notice anything different.

as for the gas mileage with lower octane. you would probably not see too much of a difference but the cost per mile using the lower octane gas would save you more money. calculate how many miles you will drive and then factor in the cost of 87 or 89 VS 91 octane. and since low octane gas burns faster, you would technically need less fuel to burn as where high octane wouldnt burn completely and be released in the exhaust.
