My friend's cousin has a shop in Sac (subaru specialist, old legacy's, RS, etc) and he offered to help with the swap. Or should I attempt this without pro help?
you could try looking it up on nasioc. i know they have some good information there on really technical stuff like swaps

I already have. I know exactly what needs to be swapped w/ parts & such. it's just a matter of the actual execution.

Me w/ my tools & F4 help OR
a Real shop w/ good tools, old Subie knowledge, but 7hrs away?

Time to get a Transmission jack I was thinking the same thing. Gaining knowledge, for me at least, is one of the most valueable things in life.

Mike Warfield knows his sh1t. I don't know if that's still considered Gruppe-S, or if Mike opened up a shop of his own just for tuning.

My experience in the final product was fantastic. The process of getting it done & info mining was a royal pain.

oh, you sig'd me. sounds like it's even more fun after some alcohol gets involved.

I'm leaning towards swapping the transmission myself, so I'll probably have the necessary tools & know-how to get your transmission out of the wagon also...i hope.

As for GST motorsports, it looks like Mike Warfield DID go out on his own. If that's the case, I wouldn't mind going back to him for the tuning. The "other place" in hayward was a train wreck.

what clutch are you looking at? Everyone says ACT, but what about other proven clutches? Seems like ACT is everywhere, so they get the most exposure

Yes, tuning will fix it. I ran economy mode after my fmic to help it out a bit. now that you have a new FMIC, did you have to get a new BOV or are you using the same one prior to install? The motor is getting a different amount of air as predicted, so a code is being thrown.

Yea i have the HKS SSQV that i've won from a raffle at SEMA last year

I really hope the tuning fixes it.. cause i really don't think i need to get a new IACV... So this code is thrown due to lean mixture?
