Blarg, does the air compressor take time to spool up? I used to have an airhorn and my reaction time was about twice as fast as air horn spoolup. So by the time I need to "promote awareness" on the road, the sound was late in the game

I used to have one like that on my jeep...it would have to pressurize the lines before you got any noise. there is absolutely NO delay with these. the only time I don't get a full honk is when the alarm blips the horn...but that's because it only makes contact for a split second. even when I blip the horn (on the steering wheel) I get a honk.

well mine's a LITTLE broken (throw-out bearing dying), but I'm getting a new clutch next week. I went with the ACT streetlite....supposedly hold more torque, but the pedal feel is still as light as OEM...and its a sprung clutch plate so no more clutch shudder!

ok. i figured out my new setup
    cobb stage1 2.5 block $2300
helix 264 cams and valvetrain $1000
    650cc or higher injectors $500

so just parts alone is $3800

and i might need some little stuff here and there and maybe throw in a new clutch and flywheel while the motor is out. so thats probably another 1k added.

i really want a good reliable setup so ill probably save up until i can afford it. so it looks like ill most likely be out till next year. so dont be sad if i disappear for awhile....

what??? I'm on my own for this tranny rebuild?

seriously I hope you get your motor together...wouldn't mind seeing some of the work that goes into it too since I'm planning on doing the same sort of thing....

except I'll probably go with a 2.8L and reworked heads.

    thats just the stock block.
im getting the one from cobb and it has forged pistons that were made to be used with wrx heads.

and plus, cobb is a very reputable company so i know that the quality and workmanship is there

I-speed just posted all the dyno results from Rim of the World...I had the most power/torque of any WRX they dyno'd

My torque curve was also one of the flattest.
