DAMN. I come back in less than 24 hours and this thing is busy

    25 cars? sounds pretty intense.

how many of your cars actually run though?

i'd put in that laughing smiley, but i'm too lazy to click on "more."

looks like I'm driving up to Lodi in about 2 weeks to pick up a tranny with a possible blown 4th gear or 4th gear synchro for $100. I should be able to rebuild it with RA gears, sell mine, and recoup most of cost of the gearset...then there's the dropping the tranny out.

I've just never done it...don't even know where to get instructions. Gruppe-S said it takes their guy about 6-8 hours to rebuild one.

if it takes their guy 6-8 hours. then it will take me 6-8 days (since ive never done a tranny before)

..which means it will take me 6-8 weeks

There's no rush. I don't NEED it, this is just pre-emptive...I figure if I'm going to be running 375 some-odd HP at the flywheel and someone throws a spare tranny my way...who am I to turn it down?

i wanna get the 2.2 from axis but they are asking for 2600. however, the axis 2.5 is 2200 and the cobb 2.5 is 2300. they both pretty much use the same parts. i just dont know which one is built better and more reliable

I'd go with Cobb....but I-speed makes a 2.8L motor if you want something with more displacement...and I think the Cobb rep told me they could build a 2.8 as well.

    so what killed your motor?

i want something where i can have good power and reliability. im going to be using the stock heads so anything above 2.5L wont be practical. i really want the 2.2 but if it comes down to it, im going to have to get a 2.5

well they said they could build a 2.8 with stock heads I think just depends on the shape of the pistons.

so do you know what killed it? looked like maybe #4?
