i work at a quick lube and every day i see metal shavings in every type of car, with all types of mileages, new fluid helps clean out ur diff if done right, now yes if you find whole teeth then i'd wory but for as far as that gray chunky glittery stuff that sticks to the check plug, i would'nt worry, you'll know when you need a new diff, as for the clicking maybe there's a rock stuck somewhere or maybe inside ur cv boot it is dry since it was leaking....not sure though, i'd have to hear it
