    Dave i'd go with castrol 75w90, it's synthetic based which is what subaru wants you to use, i use it on customer cars often and it provides enough friction for the synchros since that's what you need, it won't void your warranty if you use non subaru lubricants. just put in the correct spec and capacity and you will be fine.

    woot thanks jason! i shall try the castrol 75w90 out it is not the full synthetic one right and it works for the rear differential too? as long as it has the GL-5 specs because i seem to find castrol in the stores like autozone common then some of the others. Is the subie oil synthetic based too?
