4eat to 5 speed swap question.

I was in an accident yesterday and it completely totalled the chassis.

    Where I was hit

    Opposite side

    Trunk won't close

    Completely twisted

But everything mechanical still works. My buddy is GIVING me his rolling chassis, but it's an auto.

I've read a few threads about swapping, but I was thinking I could swap all the wiring, the ecu and all the other components over and call it a day.

Or is there something I'm missing? I know it's not worth doing on a normal basis, but what about this situation?

Am I just over thinking it? Or will it be "easy" because I have everything.

    Converting your 4EAT to 5MT - NASIOC

This is the main resource I've found. I am good with mechanical stuff but wiring is not my friend. But I have friends who will help that are. So, I am not sure if the swap will work even if I swap over all the wiring?

Hopefully this can help shed some light on what's needed from my perspective and any one that knows more than I can help figure it out so I can make a good plan.

    Thanks in advance!

That's cool as hell. The wife is okay with that? What are you doing with the bug chassis?
