    transmission swap

    i have a 02 wrx and i wanna get a newer one but i dont know which years will fit or where to find one any where near by. if you have one i am looking to buy it if its within a reasonable price.

    All WRX transmissions will be "bolt on" though you'll need an 06/07 rear diff to utilize those year transmissions. STi 6spd transmissions are swappable but will require (in some cases) an r180 rear diff, STi half-shafts, and a 4EAT driveshaft. No option is cheap and many rebuild instead. If I may ask, what is wrong with your current tranny and what's your budget for a resolution?

    I feel an 07+ six speed is the best of the bunch strength/gear ratio wise.. you're looking at probably $6000+ to get it all done.

    well i just burned out my clutch after i put in new injectors and a bigger turbo and one its just old and two the gears are going out especially first gear but it was bad when i got it a few years ago. im looking to spend as little a possible but i know its going to be pricey but i wanna do a swap that will require the least amount of work. so if i can get one that will just bolt straight on that would be the best possible solution.

    How do you know the gears are "going"? Generally the gears are broken or they aren't broken. I would suggest to replace the clutch and move forward. What turbo did you install? FWIW the 2003-2007 WRX uses the same gearset so it wouldn't be a worthwhile upgrade.

    it could be due to the fact first gear dosent like to engage unless im stopping at a slow speed or going to second then first

    So the transmission doesn't like to go into 1st gear when its at a full stop? Bent fork perhaps?

    This sounds like every other 5mt that was not assembled with the dual cone first gear syncro..

    You need to rev match. This is true for nearly every car, even those with dual ring synchros. There is nothing wrong with your transmission.
