    Check out tirerack.com
After you select your cars info click "winter" then build a 16in package. They actually have a $50 rebate on Blizzak's until tomorrow.

    Nokian Hakkapeliitta R Tires?

    Hey everyone,

Sorry, not trying to hijack your thread...but i'm also in the same situation myself!
But i'm a newbie to this particular forum, so i thought i would introduce myself. My name is John and i'm from Chicago, IL.
Anyway, it's getting to that time of year again where i'm in the market for some winter tires. I had purchased some Blizzaks about 2.5 years ago and they are already completely worn out. Needless to say, i'm not impressed.
Anyway, i've been hearing a lot about the brand called "Nokian" on some other websites. Has anyone had any experience with these tires?
I've researched them quite a bit and they seem like pretty good tires. They seem a bit pricey, but if they are half as good as the reviews seem to suggest, then i have no problem paying a little bit more for them.
According to the Nokian Website "the Hakkapeliitta R can save you .21 gallons of gasoline for every 100 miles you drive compared to a standard all-season tire". Seems pretty incredible...almost too good to be true.
Anyway, has anyone heard of these Hakkapeliitta R Tires? (I've decided to go unstudded) I'm going to place an order within a couple days so i'd like to know what i'm getting into before i buy them, thanks!

I don't really see how i would be wasting my money on a great winter tire that keeps me safe and makes the most of my awd. If these tires are half as good as they claim to be then they will blow my all-seasons out of the water. I can't stand driving on these any longer, i feel like i'm going to die in the winter on these.

Nokians are fantastic tires, albeit expensive. I've run them on the plow for a few years. My current winter tires (Blizzak REVO1) had their last season this past winter and are being replaced with Hakkapelittas.

Blizzaks are great tires for the first part of their life, but the special compound wears down and they become nothing special.
