Silly me, I thought my tires were bad... turns out they weren't bad, and I probably shouldn't have bought these tires...
I have 4, still wrapped exactly as shipped from tire rack, 205/55/R16 94V Michelin Pilot Alpin PA3 tires. These have literally not even been unwrapped, let alone mounted on a vehicle. These fit the stock WRX 16" wheels.

These are the highest rated performance winters on tire rack - not quite as good in the snow as regular winter tires, but significantly better on wet and dry. You can do the research yourself, but I'm sure you'll find that, unless you do a lot of driving on 3+" of snow, these are very good winter tires.
These are selling at $131 each plus tax and shipping from Tire Rack, and that's the price I paid. I'd like to get most of this back - I am selling these for $500 (obo, of course) for the set, picked up (or I will meet you halfway, nearby CNJ), or I will ship, but you pay.
