Just letting you know that what they told you was incorrect. You do run that risk if you modify your car but the warranty isn't voided.

that would be your dealer complying with California state emissions laws (intake) as well as federal laws regarding emissions equipment (down pipe) ..

Change either one of those and you have to re-tune, if you re-tune you're changing the emissions certified factory settings. By all technicalities you'd be breaking federal law just by a re-tune only.. but its rarely if ever enforced. On a local level though.. sure your dealer can deny your claim.. and if SOA proves the mod influenced the failure they can and will leave you out in the cold.

simple, want warranty intact.. dont mod the car. Easy.

Thats not true. I work for a Ford dealer and we have voided several people's warranties over aftermarket modification. Its almost always a diesel, and its only if they have done something extensive, like programmers and/or removing emissions components.

Easiest way to get around it is put your car back to stock before taking it to the dealer when there is a problem. Makes it impossible for them to prove anything.

So you're saying that if I do a TBE and a tune, and my window motor fails, they won't fix my window under warranty? I worked for Subaru for 3 years and that never happened. But anyway... we're thread jacking and this conversation doesn't belong here. Sorry TheDevin1569, We'll take it elsewhere
