Are the block and heads destroyed? Why don't you just rebuild?

Im assuming the block is trashed and the heads are dead as well. Im looking for a completed 2004 engine bud. I dont have time to do a rebuild or knowledge to do that.

Why do you assume that? You can hire a professional rebuilder. In many cases, it's cheaper than buying a long block and you know the motor's history. Just a suggestion.

This is very interesting. My girls car just developed a bad rod knock, and my mechanic buddy said it's probably cheaper to do a motor swap them repairing it. either way I could use a motor too.

If you find a junkyard high-mileage motor, then this is true. I'd be hesitant to pick up a WRX motor used (you never know how someone beat on the car previously)
