Wow, not sure why I wasn't getting any email notifications about this thread, thought everyone was just snoozing. Sheesh, I missed like 4 pages of stuff!
So to catch up...
The uppipe requiring loosening the engine mount is due to the factory EGT making it extremely difficult to remove the OEM pipe. I loosened mine and jacked the engine up about an inch, and the pipe just dropped out (almost on my face). Haven't ever had to do it with any aftermarket pipes.
The blue 2.5RST might be Lars. I've seen Ian around Ashland a lot lately. I think Lars was living in Hood River, not sure what he's up to now. Ian's car is turbo'd now too.
Bo, how'd the install go? Sorry I missed your call, my wife and I were buying a new dining room table/chairs and I had my hands full at the time. I've got a fix for your "deteriorating cats" - remove them!
