    tri way projector Headlight wiring.

is there something funky with the factory wiring in a REX. Like maybe common positive rather than negative?. I was putting in my new lights and it was all whacked out. I put a meter on the factory harness and got some weird measurements. anyone have a factory wiring diagram for the headlight system for these cars?

    Which lights are they?

If they are STI lights heres a wire layout

    Passenger Side
OEM Ground blue/white - Combine with one wire from each harness
OEM High red to 9005 wire
OEM Low yellow/red to blue wire on H1

    Driver Side
OEM Ground red/blue - Combine with one wire from each harness
OEM High red to 9005 wire
OEM Low yellow/red to blue wire on H1

thats fine and dandy ..if my red/blue was gnd and not +12 like it is. I think the wrx has a common positive and they switch ground to activate/deactivate the different beams. Still searching though.

My voltmeter readings were like yours, I wired my lights like IV30 and they worked fine.

They work fine as long as I don't try to make them work like they were originaly wired. there is an extra relay that keeps the lo beams on when the hi beams are turned on. that is what the problem was. I was putting source voltage to the relay rather than ground.

    SO MANY PROBLEMS.
They are all fixed now. the REX has a common possitive headlight system. The different states are switched by switching the ground side of the filliment. I am currently working on a wiring digram in CAD and will post an image of it when I am done showing the wiring for the lights that I have and showing the function of them.
