    Probably, the newest michigan member...ME!

2005 Silver STI...god this thing is fast but I think there is a hole in the gas tank (grin). Seriously, this thing is constantly parched for fuel...

Is there anything I can do OTHER THAN keepin my foot out of the turbo?

It's bone stock and I was thinkin about a cold air intake and a new exhaust. I'm hoping that won't hurt anything. It is, after all, my daily driver.

You may see me between Lansing and Grand Rapids just flyin around...

cold air intakes are nonos for subaurs... get the exhaust (downpipe, etc.) and get some type of engine managment (UTEC, Cobb, reflash)

Of the top 3 on the list, can you PM me and explain what they are and why not a CAI? I'd rather spend the money and have a reliable car so let me know the best parts to get.

How about a BOV? Will anything improve gas mileage for when I drive nice?

Thanks! I'm lookin forward to learning more about this car. I am very mechanically inclined but I'm new to the import & turbo scene...I'm mostly a motorcycle guy, so this is a small stretch for me (grin).

Your stock intake is good for more than a stage II STi. If you want it to be louder, remove the factory silencer and drop in a k&n filter.
CAI's are great for sucking up water/snow/sand/dirt/etc. I ran an injen on my '03 WRX for one year and was nervous as h3ll of water. I have one on my STi because it came with the GT35R kit, I hate it. Before I bring the car out for spring a custom short ram is being fabbed up for the car. A cai is proably the worst idea for an awd car in the midwest, now if you lived in SoCal it would be a different story. A K&N typhoon with the heat shield (or any short ram with heatshield)will do the the same as a cai and prevent debrit or water from getting into the intake.
A bov will just fok up your car. It will cause the ecu to dump more fuel into the cylinders between shifts (cool for flames). Have the possibility of a leak (txs bov's are known for this). The oem bpv can hold well over 22psi. You will need a custom tune for the bov to make the car run better. If you just want it for the sound (only reason unless you are using a big turbo), just remove the intake silencer.
    I hope that this helps.

Nope, I drive a blue wingless STi with gold Volk wheels. It is currently in a friend's garage with the motor sitting next to it.

Wow, that totally sucks. Upgrade or blew it up? I'd be interested in seeing the engine out. Can you pull it from the top or do you have to lift the body off of it?

A bad tune = cylinder two at 100psi (cracked ring). It comes out the top.

So it is loosing the oem ej257 for an axis stage III ej257. Here are some pictures of it.
