Yeah, picked it up 11/26. Loving every bit of it. Put 400 miles on it already.

Brunswick Subaru. Ron Kula is the man there.

Just threw on my set of Michelin X-Ice Xi3 tires. Can't wait to try these out in the snow

Last week I put on the blizzaks and did some drifting in the snow. This is only my second winter with an AWD vehicle and it's a much different dynamic than saving a Fwd car from a skid. I about trashed my WRX last year in the first really deep snow because once it started to slide I pushed in the clutch and tried (in vain) to steer out of it.

I learned that day you need to stay in the power for the awd to help you.

Makes sense if you think about it. Not much an AWD feature can do for you if the it's not engaged. :-) Easy to forget though

Its muscle memory, something about going sideways into oncoming traffic does not want to make you get back on power.

Oh no...you'll regret opening that door. Haha.

Well that's cool man. This was the 3rd vehicle I've purchased from Ron. Solid guy. You guys in general are great to deal with.

Since you mentioned it...any general maintenance tips?

yea, bring it to me! but seriously, just make sure you break in the motor properly, and use oem filters and crush washers if you plan on changing the oil yourself. im trying to think If I have any parts laying around at the moment. usually if I have anything left over after upgrades, the oil change kid buys them off me. he also has a 2012 black wrx. im sure you've seen mine around, its a white sedan and hard to miss.

I do plan on having you guys perform all the maintenance. I'm a firm believer of leaving this stuff to the professionals. Peace of mind knowing it was done correctly. Plus, if something is screwed up...I'm not liable. :-)

For break-in I've been keeping it under 4k...maybe a little boost from time to time. Ron had said to change the oil at 3.5...but maintenance schedule says first and future changes at 7.5

well I changed mine at 1000, and every 3-3500 from there on out. I know the "book" says 7500 but I don't agree with that at all
