    bluerex47,

I have Ziebart 35% tint on all my windows and like it lots! Nick has 35% tint on all his windows as well, and it looks great as well! I think $200 is a bit high from Ziebart, I got mine done in April 2003 for $143 with tax I think...

oh yeah, i love nicks tint, looks great. i guess i should re ask my question. should i be worried about getting a ticket with 35% tint or should i just get 50% (legal) tint? but with that kind of price difference, i think i'm just gonna wait till fall for a nice deal or something. not worth $60 to have it this week.

also, tubby, can you send me a nice high res pic of the gunmetal R34? thanks

I've had 20% on my wagon with 35% on the front windows for a year and no problems. You should be able to get by with 35%, any darker you could have problems depending on the cops in your area and whether or not your a punk a$$ kid (See the Chris Rock video, "How not to get your a$$ beat by the police").

Because of where, when and how I drive, I believe that I could have gotten away with 20% all around. 20% is teh good. 50% is teh suck.

I agree, you can easily get away with 35%, I've been pulled over (2) times with my tint and no problems.

IF you get pulled over, just roll down ALL your windows and it's not even an issue! Just an FYI, I hope you don't get pulled over.

I believe that there is no restriction on any of the windows other than the front side windows and the windshield. So you could have limo tint on the back and rear side, though this would probably get the attention of the police to mess with you for other stuff like your 35% or darker on the front sides.

Also, if you keep the front and back within one shade there is little difference in appearance. If you went with a greater difference (for example, limo in back, 35% in front) you would probably notice an extreme differnce between the two.

my other option is to do 50% in the front and 35% in the rear. it can be done this way, but i don't think i'd really like it too much. from what i've heard (and shown my parents) i think they will let me get 35% all around. it just took a little coercing to get the parents to agree

and thanks for the pic justin, makes for a great background

to add another question, if i get my car insurance changed to texas with my family, then it will be registered in texas and have tx plates and all, then can i go off of texas tint laws or (since i'm still living in ohio) do i have to go by ohio law no matter what state i'm registered in.

sorry for the questions, i'm just trying to figure things out here

Tinting laws are SUPPOSED to apply to the state you are REGISTERED in. I have friends here in OH from Florida who have 0% tint on their windows and never have problems when they get pulled over.

Oh yeah, the rule for OH is 50% on all windows, that is the legal limit. Not a mix of 35% 50%

I'd go one step PAST legal and get the 35% all around. Looks great, and I've never had any problems whatsoever.

You're incorrect about the Ohio law. In '04 it changed to 50% for the front windows only, and anything goes for the rest of the windows. I researched heavily before I went ahead with it. Go with 35% all around Chris and you'll be happy. I personally like universal tint all around on the sedans. I think the wagon's look okay w/ darker tint in the rear though. Mine was $180 from the guy in Huber Heights if you want his number. I'm extremely happy with the quality.

    Ohio
    5 inches / (Front Side) 50% Film / (Side Rear) ANY* / (Rear)ANY* / 2004

Note : Director of Ohio DPS determines what degree of tint that is legal on motor vehicles in Ohio. The tint law has been known to be enforced on out-of-state cars in some towns.

Revised from 50% on all windows before. Mirrors on both sides are required for the dark tint.
