Clarification of the rules

Due to some people stretching the rules too far...(and ruining it for everyone else in the process)

here is what we mean by PG-13

So keep your posts, avatars, and sigs appropiate. If you don't it's grounds for instant ban.

Girls in bikinis is really PG13-ok material, unless it's a significantly skimpy bikini. So, are those banned anyways, or not?

It might be PG-13 but it is not work safe.

You might find it perfectly acceptable, but the question is, would it be acceptable for an unknown population of others, in a wide range of viewing environments.

Someone glancing into someone's cube at work seeing a bikini girl image on the computer screen is all too likely to jump to the conclusion that the person is viewing porn. That leads to rumors and that can impact job retention and advancement even if it is not true. That can also get you fired and escorted to the door on the spot in many large corporations. I have largely quit browsing this forum at work for that reason.

I can understand the issue though. I certainly don't want to be responsible for anyone getting fired or not promoted or whatever. I wonder if there's a SFW plugin for vBulletin to allow people to tag material as NSFW, and a user setting to say if you want to see that stuff. Hmm...

I'm not trying to stir trouble, but if you're concerned about nws avatars, you can always turn off the avatar feature in the user control panel. I know that in the past, I've had an avatar of a girl in her bikini, I didn't know about the rules, I was asked to take it off, and I did without question. We are all here to talk about cars here, and if we want to post Rated-R avatars, there are forums out there where you can do that.

The general idea is that you could have any page of Clubwrx loaded up on your computer while your boss (regardless of how closed minded your company is) was there. There are PLENTY of places for p0rn, bikinis, etc on the internet, that's why we have no patience for it here. It would take me probably 1 minute to register at www.offtopic.net and post all the p0rn I wanted.....by all means, use that as a resource if you feel the need
