Hmm...actually I do. I first commented that the "character line" on the side is vague, interrupted, and should have been carried forward to the front.

I also agree. I predicted that these will outsell last years model. Once people truly start seeing the beauty of the drivetrain, combined with it's amazing relatively low weight for an AWD platform, the style will pull them in. The older style put folks off due to it's blatant "I'll kick you in the teeth" look. I'm still a fan of the flared fenders, scoop, and so-big-it's-silly rear wing, but can understand why Subaru has went this route. Lets hope they keep the fan base happy with the soon to be released STi.

    FREAK!!

Heh. Just kidding. Seriously though, what do you do for a living? Engineer? Designer? It just sounds like that kind of lingo.

Also, did you enjoy the article? I have yet to get anyone to agree w/ me that he was being overtly negative for the sake of negativity, or that the article was just bad. Maybe it is just me.

I'm was not surprised that he was unimpressed by its looks, but he made it sound like the Pontiac Aztec.

I'm and industrial design student and I'm hoping to eventually be a car designer so that probably was why I liked the article personally. I can only dream of someday figuring out the proper design for finger indents on a car door.

Do you read Automobile regularly? I subscribe to it and the author of that section tends to point on the negatives a lot on a lot of cars, he's even pretty critical of cars he supposedly likes. It's somewhat rare that he really expresses a huge like about the car. Perhaps its negative, but then again I think there are plenty of areas in which recent cars have a lot of design issues. I'm not trying to start and argument again, but it occurred to me that that probably had a lot to with why I didn't find this particular episode to be overly negative.

No I don't read Automobile. It doesn't sound like I would like this guys style much if he is predominantly critical. If he enjoys cars so much it would be nice to see so balance. But I haven't seen his stuff so I don't know.

I took the article as the normal ascerbic brit "humour". Doesn't mean anything as long as you like the car.
