I replaced by WRX in November. There are so many great cars that I want in the world, I have no idea if I'll go back.

I loved my WRX too much, if I got another one I would have felt like I was cheating...

Absolutely no excuse for poor paint. Mechanicals are good, but the paint is 80s Soviet style.

things i liked about my WRX:

    reliability
    boxer growl
    good grip
hood scoop in my face when i drive
    practical
    good aftermarket support
    "personality"

    things i didn't like:

    gearing
    weak synchro's
    no torque
    competitors are always faster
    weak front/rear diff
    gas mileage
    cheap feeling inside and out

right now, i'm not so sure. on one hand, i'm extremely impressed by the things i liked, while i'm extremely let down by the things i didn't like. if Subaru can cure some of the ailments i mentioned, particularly with the tranny/diff's, then i would definitely buy another Subaru. if not, i'm happy where i currently am.

20xx STI hatch back 2 door. But it has to weigh less than 3k lbs. So I guess my answer would be yes.

As much as I am in love w/ my Subie, I think my next car will be more economical.

Of course, I'm planning on still having my WRX at that point

As a replacement of the WRX(which currently is more toy than daily driver), I think that is quite possible. I'm a car enthusiast in general which means I'm not exclusive or pro silly car rivalries...but I certainly like Subarus thus far. I hope they don't get overly electronic in the future. Surely electronic aids like yaw sensors and traction control and all will make most people faster but it defeats the raw pleasure of driving for me.

As a daily car replacement, a more subdued Subaru like a Legacy would be nice...even a harder Spec B type of Legacy would be ok, and I wouldn't put too much into it. On the other hand, a rugged offroader prepped like a desert racer seems to itch me at the moment. Imagine that new FJ Cruiser, prepped for Paris-Dakar(or even more full hardcore, but enough)....or a Brower

Hey Tim, there's a huge thread we did on this that will probably give you more insight:

Would you buy Subaru again? why/why not?
