Aah.. it moved to 1.6 now So the 2.0 L move should be for mpg and weight savings?

If it looks like that rendering, I definitely see the price of the hawkeyes going up again, as well as the stinkeyes too, I suppose. We shall see though, 1 more week.

The question you must ask yourself is does it scare anyone to buy a first generation redesigned car. I mean through out history the first year is where all the improvements are built off of, Ex. ecoboost 1.6L Ford motor. I am kinda scared to consider a new roll out car just for that reason, the bugs are not all worked out.

Me no like. Seems like they just get bulkier every generation. I said the same thing about the 2011 though and now I own one. I guess seeing one in person can make a difference.

Also, I know someone said (here on on NASIOC?) it looks like a Charger. It reminds me of the CT200H from Lexus though. Maybe it's just the lights that is reminiscent?

Thought so. Is it the same block as the current one with a smaller displacement? Also, will it be a timing chain vs belt?

Nope. The FA series of motors is the first new 4cyl motor from Subaru in a while.

FA series utilizes a timing chain, yes.

Considering that they are about to reveal it, I don't feel like I am being that bad. I saw the car in person in a focus group and can tell you the rendering is not far off at all. Basically that's it. Sharkfin antennae, rear undercarriage, rear lights, the front "mini-window" is accurate, the lines are correct. I remember the one I saw, the fenders didn't flare as much as they are in the rendering. They showed it alongside a Focus and a Golf.

We'll have to wait and see. I can't and won't judge a car based on a rendered model. They usually, if not always, look better in person. I would love to see a version of the rendered model with the spoked wheels that's on the previous WRX's.

In the focus group it had the 2009-2010 WRX rims on it. What I am saying though, is that rendered picture IS what the car looks like. 99%, exactly. Certainly, it looked better in person and my immediate reaction was I would trade up for it. I currently have a 2011 sedan and absolutely LOVE the look of my current ride.

I saw a Japanese spy photo somewhere and it does look like this crappy rendering...if it does, sorry I'll keep my 2013...In the Motortrend pic the front looks alright, but if the back looks like the rendering what the hell was Subaru thinking?
