    Exclamation ClubWRX.net Site Upgrade

    Dear ClubWRX visitors,

As you can see ClubWRX.net just got a makeover. The software that we are using has been updated and the fresh update means a smoother, more up-to-date backend that will improve your overall browsing/participating experience on the site.

A new splash page is coming soon but it won't be available for a few days since a lot of information has to be updated.

New features including the new content manager and user blogs will allow us to post important information on the splash page. We will roll out more features as the site gets more up to date. Minor tweaks on the forum layout will also be made incrementally.

Other than that the site will work and function the same as before. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to post them here and I'll be happy to answer them. I hope you all enjoy the upgraded ClubWRX!

Well done on the upgrade Tim. Thanks for keeping the site up to date.

I posted a thread in Off Topic, probably should have waited for this one to pop up, but basically I like the looks of it. It's a lot cleaner looking with sharper contrasts which are a bit more engaging to the eyes, but the formatting for whatever reason seems a bit off. Can't quite put my finger on it, but it just seems a bit more clustered. Like things are closer together than they were before. Dunno, maybe it's just me.

Either way, well done, and thank you.

Adjustments will be made. I think the new layout will take a bit of time to get used to. I'll try to play around with the location of the ads to make it more integrated for a better user experience. I'm just glad that the DB didn't blow up on me during the upgrade since our site is pretty big

Yeah, it will take some time to get used to, but surprisingly my eyes have already adjusted to it. The only thing that still doesn't quite jive is the placement of things, the alignments and what have you. But overall, it's progress.

You are quite lucky the DB didn't take a **** on you. I hate when things don't go smoothly like that, but when put a large load on a server, sometimes things just happen. I'm glad I don't do the server and database admin stuff anymore.

One thing I just noticed upon writing this is the comments quoted below the answer box in the advanced reply mode; all of the comments are in white boxes with seemingly white separators, so it's a little difficult to see where one comment ends and the other begins. It's not exactly HARD to tell because you can see the user and time stamp, but a little contrast there would be nice, I think. Also, the separator between comment and signature is white as well. Any way to make these a little more defined?

Hit the Quick Links drop down menu in the toolbar, top choice is subscribed threads.

The site looks much cleaner, Tim. I'm sure there will be a period of adjustment, but most people will end up happier in the end.

I know how you feel, I did/still admin some other small car forums, I found it best to just get them stable and backup as much as possible.

I updated it once, and learned my lesson.
