Subaru Sales March 2010

4/1 March 2010 sales totals: 23,785 which breaks the previous March record set in 2006 of 19,049
Outback and Forester are the leaders, with the Forester slightly ahead. If Outbacks were more available (like the Forester), it could be reveresed. Tribeca is struggling but watch for some news regarding the 2011 model (usable 3rd row).
For 3/10: Outback 7,619 cars +111% from 3609 March 09; Forester 8,467 +24% over 6,802 in 2009; Impreza 3,969 +7% from 3,725 in 2009; Legacy 3487 +124% from 1554 3/09; Tribeca 243, -57% from 559 in 3.09
Total YTD for the first 3 months of 2010: 57,494 total, up a strong +38% over 41,532 YTD 2009. YTD: Outback 19,275, Forester 19,725, Impreza 9,270, Legacy 8,500, Tribeca 674

This all sounds Great for Fuji H.I. but then I wonder if it is due to the Toyotification of the Subie Brand? I hope they don't let go of the Cultish appeal that caused us all to fall in love with Subies in the first place. And now they are even talking about RWD...and even worse Hybrids? This scares me. I'm Not a tree hugger, nor do I blatantly burn Hydrocarbons, I just like to leave my carbon footprint 4 wheels at a time, and in the dirt where it belongs.

I hope they don't also but the auto industry is all messed up at this moment and looks to be for awhile. I'm sure FHI has seen it's chance to grow since they do have a quality product and their not in any financial troubles, so they probably will sell out (if you will) at least a little to gain a bigger share of the market.
