Did anyone go through this?

In case you havent seen me post before, let me introduce myself. My name is Andy and im 18, Im getting a WRX [and that is for sure] at the end of the current semester. I want a WRB 2002' WRX. And ever since I knew for sure i was gonna get one, it's the ONLY THING ON MY MIND. Everywhere i go I'm on the look out for Impreza's, everytime I get online I look up subaru stuff on here or autotrader, etc. I'm constantly talking about how cool it's gonna be when I finally have one. Since 2002 when I saw the WRC STi, i have been obsessed with Impreza's, it's ultimatley the coolest car on earth. I wont test drive one becasue the only manuel car I have driven is a 90' Ford Escort and a 1999' Cavelier and im just to afraid to take a wrx out on somone elses name. Did any of you go through the Pre-WRX owning Obsession phase????

P.S. Anyone selling a 02' WRB WRX for 15,000 or less, in a state somewhat close to Illinois, hit me up with a PM.

if you wanna be really cool, buy an older impreza GC8 and do an STI motor swap.

dont listen to all this crap about young kids and cars, unless you cant drive.

my gf says i love my car more than i love her. have fun with the car, and be safe.

Im 17 and i just sold my audi a4 so i could get a subaru. i have to wait about a year or so now cause of license suspension, but for the past couple of weeks thats all ive been tihnking about. Like you ive been on autotrader, forums, tuning websites, etc. I actually learned to drive stick on a wrx so thats not a problem here. Just drive it and do it, your gonna never want ot get into another car again. And if anyone is selling a 02 wrx near philly for less than 14000. tell me please.

I still am. On the plus side, I have my planned mods all researched to a T... now I just need to get my needy hands on a WRX.

im driving one. go here fo pics of my car. no engine swap yet. these cars are getting more rare as time goes on but eventually i founf one by my area. i was obsessed too and still am

Same here after all the planning and planning to squeze some extra horses without breaking the wallet i decided to skip it all together. To bad theres no 300whp wagons though.

Im getting a STI instead its just going to add a year or two to my payments.

Heres a question, If you guys had 15,500$. would you but a 15,500 WRX, or a 1998 2.5 rs for 6k with 100,000 miles and just use the rest of the money to mod it? Answer this, with 15,500, would would be faster, a WRX or a 98' 2.5 rs with 9,500$ into it.

Unfortunatly the WRX wasn't my top choice for my first car. I was soo close to buying a 93 twin turbo rx7, but the lady sold it on me. And I had literally 3 days to find a car. I was going to look at an Integra Type R or a RSX type S. But I saw a wrx in the paper and went to test drive it. I test drove the Spec V first and then right after went to test drive the wrx and fell in love.

So i really didn't have time to think about owning one because it was kind of a last minute decision. I still kind of wish I had the rx7 only because there aren't too many on the road and I love the car. But the wrx is good... for now

Man i had a 94 RX-7 tt and it was a blast.
but it was the hardest car to keep running. plus when you go adove 400 whp you cant hook on launch.

the subie is a better more reliable car

The pre-purchase jitters are killer but you just be patient. The post-purchase jitters are the ones to be excited about. G/L w/ your search. You don't have to answer but why did you lose your license wrxme?

It doesn't get any better once you have your Rex. I still think about that damn car constantly(but in a good way)
