You could pick up a new wrx for about 2k more.

what's up all...nice site. it's 4 in the morning here in philly so i'm going to keep this short. i wanted to see what you guys thought of the following deal i got for the following car.
USED...2004 Silver WRX 19,135 miles
-heated seats
-boost gage
-feels like a short throw shifter
-AEM intake
-greedy blow off valve
asking price $20500, negotiated price $19500
I haven't bought it yet but they are holding it for me. I'd appreciate your opinions guys, thanks.

thats how much i got mine but that was last year, and mine was an '02 with 20k miles...i suggest you just get a new one...you never know what the previous owner has done...plus its a 2004 with that much miles on it...i dont know potnah...think about it
i was afraid you guys were going to say that, there sin't a cheaper '04 WRX on autotrader.com and all the '05's in my area are 24,000 range. maybe things are cheaper in cally![]()
you can get a brand new 05 for low 20s
05 STI![]()

the fact that its been modded should be a turn away for you
not to mention modded incorrectly (intake and BOV are not good on a stock WRX, search around)
Im thinking of just buying a new one also..i found a 2004 with 21k miles on it for 22,000..but im thinking i can get a new one for that including the premium package but everyones told me the resale value of a new car drops like ****..

That is true. Buying a new car is only good for piece of mind, and terrible for the value of the car vs. loan amounts, etc. 2003 Evos with less than 20k miles are in the 23-25 range right now BTW.Originally Posted by 04Suubaroo
Those mods and that many miles on such a new car could mean abuse. I bought my 2002 before it was a year old with about 4000 miles on it. It was basically stock. I paid ~$22k. I'd stay away from modified WRXs unless you're getting a really good deal.
I got my '05 WRX for $22749, and that included the premium package.
You should be able pay less if you forgo the PP.
I know the dealer where I bought my car still has some new '04s on the lot that they are trying to unload, I definitely could have gotten one (they tried to talk me into it) for 20k or less. Keep looking, it's out there.

WR Blue Pearl
When I traded my 04 Rex in with 17k miles they gave me 19,618 for my trade so that's probably a good price.

Thanks for the advice guys, really, I appreciated it. As for buying a car, well, I got this instead. I’ve been looking and driving both cars of different years for a few months now and I’m pretty happy with my decision. As you can guess I won’t be posting up here a lot but if you know of any good Audi forums post up. Please no stories of beating A4’s or A4 horror stories…thanks all, later![]()
