    Just cracked 1k on odometer...OMG

Picked up my '05 on 12/31, just rolled over the 1000 mile mark today. (Yes, I drive a lot!) Anyway, I babied it up until now, never shifting over 3500 except for a few spirited bursts up to about 4200. All I have to say is, this is a completely different animal when you get on it! I still haven't taken it up to 6k, but D@MN, this car is just dying to be let loose! Can't wait till spring and some track days open up. Anyways, just babbling. God I love this car

Yup. It's nice to finally use the turbo of a turbocharged car.

fyi, you haven't felt anything yet (read: mods)

Top end on a stock STI is a little underwhelming. Low-mid range is the strong area. Power/torque seems to fall off after 6K or so. You weren't mising that much not going to +6K. I think the sweet spot is from 3-6K rpm. I was a little let down after my break in period and figured it would get more intense as the RPMs grew. I'm sure with the proper mods, it can be opened up to it's full potential.
